Are you ready for employee work visa fees to double?

The polls currently show that a National-led government is a strong possibility post-election.  Some may be happy to hear it, but if your business leans heavily on migrant talent then be prepared to get hit with higher costs, as the Accredited Employer Work Visa fee is set to almost double from $750 to $1425 by the middle of 2024 if National’s ‘pay to play’ policy comes into being.

Whilst the goal is to align our costs more to those charged in Australia, and allow INZ to cut its own lunch, the impact of a country that relies heavily on migrant worker talent will be felt across the board.

Knowledge is power, and business leaders who support their employee visa costs need to keep one eye on their mobility budget, and the other on the election.
